The Memory Keepers - and 3/11

On November 11, 2011, I posted a piece about my family photo/memory storage system, which has been known to us as "The Brass Box."

On this anniversary of the massive tragedy in Japan, I viewed a gut-wrenchingly touching video of "The Memory Keepers," a group of people whose mission it is to try to salvage whatever family photos can be found, repaired, and returned to their rightful owners.

For those of us who treasure these bits of family history, it is such a ray of hope. As it was noted, a lot of these pictures have been rescued from places like garbage dumps. To me, that's a testament to the human spirit -- that it can prevail against unimaginable forces.

Bless the Memory Keepers!
